Where can I register?

Registration is online starting October 1 and you can get to the registration page HERE. 

When does online registration close?

Online Pre-registration closes at 12:00 pm on Thursday April 5th. We have a Eugene Pickup location at Run Hub NW 2-7 Thursday and Friday in Cottage Grove 2-6pm at the Village Green Resort 

What is the participation cap?

500 total for this fast and flat Half marathon until April 1st when Busses will be ordered and the field rounded to the nearest 50. 200 for the 10K from Trailhead Park with no bussing

I’m interested in volunteering, how do I get in touch?  volunteer@oregontrailruns.com

You can go to the "Resend Confirmation" page to have a new confirmation email sent to you. Please use the same email address you used to register for the event and make sure the confirmation email did not land in the spam filter. You will not receive any email if you are not registered.

What happens if I am unable to participate in the event after I register?

No refunds or Transfers. Event insurance can be purchased during your registration process through Run Signup.

Can I register on event day?

Sorry, but there is no day of registration and once capacity is reached but may be available via facebook cottagegrovehalfmarathon. e-mail mike@oregontrailruns.com

How do I volunteer?

E-mail volunteer@oregontrailruns.com to volunteer for an aid station or other important positions.

When and where is packet pickup day of the event?

Thursday Run Hub NW 2-7, Friday Village Green resort 2-6 Day of before Day of onsite at Bohemia Park S 10th and E-Main Cottage Grove after 7am and before 8:30am

What do I need to bring to packet pickup?

You'll need to show a photo ID to pick up your packet, but you won't need to bring your confirmation email because we'll be able to look you up using the information in the ID. Want to speed things up download this waiver and bring with you.

Can I pick up my race packet on day of race?

Yes, you can also pick up your packet day of race at the Bus pickup area and finish at Bohemia Park (see schedule), but we strongly encourage you to pick up your packet the Friday before the event to leave yourself more time to warm up and get ready on event day.

Can someone else pick up my packet?

Yes they can, but they need some information from you in order to do so. Please refer to "Packet Pickup" for information.

I'm coming from out of state - Can you mail me my packet?

Sorry, but we cannot mail you the packet because we will only receive the chips and bibs the day before from Rogue timing services. If you cannot pick up your packet the day before, you can also pick up your packet the morning of the race (see information here).

Where and when will I see the results?

The results will be published at the finish every 15-20 minutes as well as the same day on our Facebook Page onlineraceresults.com  

How is this race timed?

All events will be timed using RFID chip timing technology and the chip is read as you cross the start and finish line to calculate your actual race time. We chip the Bibs to provide an easy Start and Finish protocol. Please place your Bib on the front of your body to be easily seen at the finish! Results will be posted online at cottagegrovehalf.com The Race will be chip started in 2018

What is the course like?

This course goes along The Row River Trail and is flat and straight, perfect for a personal best time whether you’re running or walking. You can view the course map here. Link to Run Oregon Media Coverage 

How long is the course open?

The course is open for 4 hours counting from the time the race starts. Any participants still on the course after 4 hours will no longer be considered part of the run.

Are there aid stations and what’s provided?

Yes, there will be an aid station every 2-3 miles. All aid stations will provide water and electrolyte drink. Some aid stations will also have extra energy food. Please remember that the trails are for public use, and to "Leave No Trace Behind". Bring all trash with you and only dispose of them at aid stations where we will have recycle/compost/trash bins set up. 4 aid stations total!

Will there be porta-potties?

There will be bathrooms and porta-potties at the start, the finish and on the course. See "Course Map" for the locations of porta-potties.

Will there be mile markers?

Yes, there will be a mile marker for every mile on the course.

On Race Day What time does the race start?

9:30am from Dorena School after a Bus ride from Bohemia Park starting at 8:15am when the busses arrive and depart starting at 8:30am for the 20 minute bus ride. Please do not drive to Dorena School as this is not part of the permit

Where is the Half Marathon Start?

Dorena School after the Bus ride! Event parking Downtown Cottage Grove or off of S 10th, and there are shuttles waiting to load starting at 8:20am Walking time is 10 minutes from downtown if you plan to eat lunch or check out the local area. Busses will leave in 5 Minute intervals starting at 8:40am

Where does the 10K Start? Trailhead Park at the Finish for an out and back 10K across from S 10th at 9:15am

Can my friend drop me off at the Start of the Half?

No We want to plan for the proper amount of busses and know where you are.

Do I have to pay for the shuttle?

Shuttles are included in participation

How often does the shuttle take off?

You can board the shuttles as soon as 8:30. The shuttles will leave when full or 8:40am staggered at 5 min intervals. Please be on time!

What will the weather be like?

April in Oregon averages a high of 56 degrees and a low of 45. Wear a Base layer and prepare for anything from rain to a beautiful April day.

Is there a gear check?

Yes, you place your stuff in a bag which you will number for the return back to the finish. Please make sure that your items all fit into a 20 inch by 20 inch bag or 1 gallon zip lock bag will do and do not pack valuables in the bag as we are not be responsible for the contents.  

Can I bring my dog or participate with my baby in a stroller/jogger?

For the safety of all participants, dogs and strollers/joggers are not allowed anywhere on the course.Maybe in 2018 we can have a separate bus for dogs?

Can I bring a pacer?

Because space is limited, to ensure that all runners have the best experience, pacers running without a bib are not allowed to minimize congestion. We do have pacers fron Run Hub NW and please find your pace and stick with them. You are very welcome to run with a friend, but please have them register as well. Finishers Medals & Awards Where can I pick up my finisher medal? Everyone that crosses the finish line will be given a commemorative finisher medal to celebrate their achievement. As you cross the finish line, please give the finish line volunteer will hand you the medal.

What awards will be given out?

The overall man and women will receive an award and  3 top men and women overall in each age group will be given an award. The age groups for the Half and 10K are 15-19,20-24,25-29,30-34,35-39,40-44,45-49,50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70-74,75+ For the 10K the top 3 will also be given a unique podium award for each age group. For the 10K we will have a 10-14 year old award as well and under 10 also. 

What time is the awards ceremony?

The awards ceremony will be at the finish line and will start at 11am for the 10K and 12:00pm for the overall Half Marathon.  

Who is the beneficiary for this event?

United Way of Lane County "Live United" fund,supporting the Be Your Best Program in Cottage Grove local non-profit working with Oregon Trail Runs for this event and in part is a beneficiary as part of getting families moving in Lane County through healthy exercise and movement. The Money stays local in Cottage Grove!
